GE Frame 9 Series

Originally introduced in 1978 at 105 MW, the 9 has incorporated numerous component improvements. The latest 9FB models boast an output of 268 MW and are capable of achieving more than 59 percent efficiency in combined-cycle. The 9E gas turbine is GE’s 50 Hz workhorse. With more than 430 units, it has accumulated over 22 million hours of utility and industrial service—often in arduous climates ranging from desert heat and tropical humidity to arctic cold.
